Como, 2019
Project: Piero Carlo Noè
Today, guests at the Palace Hotel experience its dual soul—a dialogue between its 19th-century past and a present already looking to the future. An imposing and prestigious building overlooking the lake, defined by Belle Époque luxury and offering a level of comfort worthy of Como’s grandest hotels.
Built in 1898, it was originally known as the Grand Hotel Plinius. Having withstood two world wars and undergone periods of closure, renovations, and changes in ownership, the hotel—now known as the Palace Hotel—has been enriched with a new residential wing: a large, modern-style annex overlooking the lake, called Pianella, along with a Conference Center. Since 2005, the hotel has been managed by the renowned Villa d’Este Group, becoming a landmark for a city like Como, which is gradually redefining its identity and opening more and more to tourism.
